DESCRIPTION
Guillain-Barré syndrome is a rare neurologic condition that leads to weakness and sensory impairments. Patients with Guillain-Barré syndrome often have high rehabilitation needs and benefit greatly from intensive rehabilitation from an interdisciplinary rehabilitation. This talk will cover an overview of the disease, initial medical management, treatment, therapy strategies, and outcomes.

LEARNER OUTCOMES
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify the clinical features of Guillain-Barré syndrome
  2. Identify the diagnostic criteria for Guillain-Barré syndrome
  3. Discuss different prognostic factors for patients with Guillain-Barré syndrome
  4. Counsel patients with Guillain-Barré syndrome regarding common questions asked about their condition
